Pewterschmidt Verified Member Posted yesterday at 07:20 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:20 PM It seems like just yesterday that the faithful were polishing Wallstedt's Hall of Fame bust. Now we're discussing a plan C in case Wally goes full Wall-E. Next over hyped prospects on the docket: Yurov, Z Boo, and Jirizy. 2

1Brotherbill Verified Member
Of all things that are wrong with the Wild. Goaltending isn't it. If it does become a problem address it next summer. Teams have won Stanley cups with worse goaltending (Colorado). Just relax on the goaltending for now.
0 Stanley Cups Verified Member
Hlavaj is having success with team Slovakia, but not with the Iowa Wild. David Spacek wants out of the Wild organization. What is going on down in Iowa? 30th place last season, 29th this season. Canned Tim Army two seasons ago, but nothing has changed. Build a winning culture starts down in Iowa. Sure there were injuries the last two seasons with the Wild, but bringing up Shore and Gaunce shouldn't decimate our pipeline.
Imyourhuckleberry Verified Member
Rittich seems like a reasonable option around $1M. Veteran goalies often do bounce back after a down year if they had talent to begin with and he has several years of serviceable play. He isn't too old to bounce back. Wouldn't hurt to have more talent in Iowa if Wallstedt secures the backup spot for the Wild.

He just hires his beer drinking buddies, not people best suited for the job. When we look back in 10 years, everyone will know that Guerin was the worst GM in Wild history and set this team back at least a decade, if not more. Building a winning franchise starts in Iowa. Neglect it and your prospects and this is what you get, mediocrity and unhappy players.
