Still remember Guerin's quote a year or two ago.  "If we get rid of Foligno, we're just going to have to sign someone to give us what he brings anyway."  He gets things right...sometimes.

I wish he had that thought on every transaction he makes.

I have been waiting to see this Foligno in the playoffs for a few seasons now. This is precisely why he was resigned, and he's earning that contract extension.

There's a lot of angst with Rossi playing with Trenin and Breezers. I happen to like that line and felt like it was a better line than the Gaudreau line in game 4. While I'd like to see Rossi get a few more minutes, it is possible he is still dealing with the knee. It also would be possible for him to jump up in the top 6 a couple of times and just see what he can do.

Both of his goals came in the home plate area, but if you watch him, he is really hanging back while Trenin and Breezers are down low. He picks his spots to shoot the gaps and has gotten a couple of nice passes. It looks like a solid playoff line.

I also like this line. It seemed to work well when Rossi had Foligno too. I think this is Hynes doubling down on this concept. Hynes also talks a lot about matchups and I think he has effectively introduced lines that have the best chance against the opposition. Win or lose, we are not out-matched by Vegas. Every game so far has been extremely close.

I do wonder if Rossi is playing injured though too, I think it would be a bad idea to let it out that Rossi has an injury, strategically.

As far as Foligno, I have enjoyed seeing him embrace his role as a leader and show the rest of the team what it means to play a physical game. It's working.
