I see myself hoping for this to happen, bracing for it not to. Very conflicted inside.

I would feel better if they could maintain the pressure on VGK. All 3 games the Wild have an initial push and then spend the remainder of the game treading water. That’s playing with fire. So far they have kept them to the outside. Game 3 VGK got more physical. This may be a factor if we don’t put the pressure back on them and get them out of that style of play

I tend to agree with this. What we have seen so far, reminds me of early in the season when we went on that incredible run of not playing with a deficit. We're packing in the middle and taking home plate away from the opponent. 1 thing I did notice in game 3 was Foligno was not as physical, but Trenin and Breezers were. This set of referees called the most penalties of the series. I thought some of the calls on us were a bit ticky tack, meaning, they weren't just letting the guys play as in the 1st 2 games. This should have favored Vegas, but it didn't. (On the embellishment call, I didn't really agree with that, I think I would have called interference on the first part of contact and the retaliation stick on Foligno, though it was weak). Obviously, this set of referees was very concerned with the game getting out of hand, something I have commented on as being a referee's worst fear.

Finally Rossi decided to show up - good for him

but it’s like celebrating Zeev assist - he basically gave the puck to Kap - who did All the work

I’d say that’s different. Rossi got a great pass from Braz but he still has to receive it, shoot it and make it past the goalie. He had a guy right behind him too. You’re really not giving him enough credit. The Zeev assist was exactly how you explained it though. He passed it to Kap and he skated around for a while and scored.

Rossi's got a pass from Trenin. Great pass. He was open. He shot. He scored. What more do you want? This last game he scored again. Again off a great pass by Trenin. Then Rossi disappeared again.

I'm not saying that we lost today because of him - but his overall play today was not really a standout to me to say - he is worth investing in (top 6 money).

He disappeared because he literally did not get put on the ice. He (and the fourth line) got less than four minutes combined in the second and third period.

You can't put together a sizzle reel on the bench.

he was given limited minutes because he was being run over by vegas and towards the end of the game was a liability for us. but i am sure there is some silly stat that says otherwise!

He scores a goal and was a +1 but “his overall play today didn’t stand out to me” he’s got 3pts in 4 games. You sound ridiculous. As others have said he’s playing on the 4th line!!!? I’d love to know “what stands out to you since you weren’t impressed with his goal.

It's not all about points. i gave him and trenin credit for scoring. what more do you want? his play out side of scoring that goal was again timid and not that engaging. trenin however was very noticeable. what more do you want? applause for rossi scoring? ok celebrate that!

“Some silly stat” stats don’t lie. You’ve lost your mind.

yes stats are misleading in a small sample size.

  • eichel +/- from today (-2)
  • roy +/- from today (0)

HAHAHA

eichel was a beast today

  • zeev +/- from today (+2)
  • faber +/- from today (-1)

HAHAHA

zeev was trash today

so yeah maybe temper that excitement for rossi. i said good for him (and trenin and braz) to deliver but as the game got ramped up, rossi was not there to deliver - and it wasn't because he was shunned - it was because his game could not handle what vegas offered.

I forget that Marco is the only one who needs to produce on every shift and that he should only score unassisted goals.

nah - i think every one needs to produce, but you seem to have this obsession with rossi, who you have to defend like your own child. is he immune to scrutiny? is he wrongfully placed on L4? what is your main point with these flare ups? what do you actually want w rossi? common Tony, you are the GM - what do you do? let's hear it!

you want him signed 8 years for 10 mil per? and plugged into a top 6 because he deserves it? or what is the point of your chivalry? just standing up for a lad getting criticized?

Maybe someone can call me obsessed with Rossi, but you're not the person to do it.

I think he's a great player who should be recognized for what he brings to the table. I think he's getting a raw deal from the team. When Eriksson Ek was showing he was a No. 1 center, but could never get to the top line, I posted a lot about that. When Fiala was getting a raw deal from Evason, I posted a lot about that, too.

I like good players and want the Wild to keep their good players.

Maybe someone can call me obsessed with Rossi, but you're not the person to do it. why exactly not? i think he is an ok performer but has shown his deficiencies towards the end of the year. the first two games of the PO he has been MIA and now he has scored two goals. good. but that doesn't mean that he is not timid and not really that effective in a physical playoff environment. and i trust the coach to give him the line and time that he deserves.

there is no raw deal - he is playing right now and playing where he should be playing. hartman is much better than him right now. so there is no raw deal period.

the wild world doesn't revolve around rossi - it revolves around kaprizov and i think billy knows that. rossi's time with the club ends when the PO ends (if all goes well - he regains some of the stock and can still be used in a deal). i am fine with that. my biggest worry is that Kap's time will end as well. that should be the focus.

Because you couldn't help yourself from posting the same screed you've posted 100 times since october.

being defensive is a sign of being in the wrong 🙂

i gave rossi credit up to the time he disappeared. in fact - i even stated that out of the three youngsters (Rossi, Faber, Boldy) i'd pick him to keep.

but after that, his game changed. he has deserved the demotion. and does not belong in the top 6.

i understand that he scored a goal, but that did not change his overall play, so using a stat line to come in and try to gloat over it, is unfair.

i've brought up a point yesterday where Eichel posted a -2 in G4, but you have to be crazy to say that he wasn't the best player on the ice for vegas.

sometimes facts do not tell the story. as with Rossi - i'd argue Trenin had a much better game, but for some reason - it's the story of redemption for Rossi .... yet again...

That was me trying to say I'm not trying to crap on you for posting about Rossi. Just saying that we both have a topic we keep coming back to.

🍻 understood 🙂

i think we can both agree though - we both are pulling for Rossi to score again as many times as possible, where ever in the lineup he finds himself, i want this round win

wild in 6!
