Article: Matt Boldy Is Meeting the Moment

Bill Guerin is confident in his group.

Minnesota needs to get their confidence and chemistry by beating Vegas. That COULD be a spark. A return to the early season success they had when they were at the top of the league.

Boldy maturing and elevating for playoffs is what MN needs. His shooting and hitting the net is key. I would be happy to see him throw it on net from the boards too and look for stuff to come off rebounds. Boldy had a couple goals early in the year where he scored from low percentage areas. More shoot first mindset, but as long as he's scoring and MN is getting wins, I'm happy. Less dipsy-doodle junk. 😁

I really like the way Boldy is playing now. He's aggressive, taking hits and dishing them out. He's going more north and looking to score. His intensity is up. It is as if he found another gear that we've all been waiting for.

But let's be honest, his role as Robin is better than trying to be Batman. Holy goal scoring, Batman, confidence was the thing that was missing!

If Boldy's ceiling is a 70-80 point Robin to Kap's 90-110 point Batman, I can think of way worse things.

I'll be greedy and hope for 80-90 point Boldy and 100-120 point (and perennial Hart trophy candidate) Kaprizov.

Boldy hatty tonight, anyone?

Boldy should work on his shot this summer.i know it's alot more fun golfing and crushing beers but imagine Bolds with a Sakic shot.

His wrist shots and snap shots are pretty good but for some reason he still struggles a bit on 1-timers. If he was Tage Thompson lethal on the PP with his 1-timers his point production would definitely increase and get him up in to the 80-90+ range.

I’ve said this for 2 years. If he put the effort in on his one-timer and keeps gaining a bit of muscle, he would be a handful to deal with night in and out. He has great hands and has improved his ability to keep possession. Best on the team.

If he plays with Ek and Kap next year for a whole season, I think you are correct and 90 points would not be out of the question.
