Wild vs Vegas

Good game boys and we got a series. Come on home. Gus is definitely the unsung hero. Kept it zeros after poor start and took everything Vegas could throw at him for almost two periods.

...and well worth staying up for.

For sure. Cleared my calendar for the first couple hours just in case. Now amped up so getting to sleep will be a challenge.

VGK won the period….. it wasn’t a fair face off… shut up ESPN announcers

I watch the game on FD. Rather watch the Wild broadcast. National media orgasms over VGK. Many have them picked as their SC champions.

Kap, Ek, and Boldy are definitely the best L1 option.  The rest are having a tough time controlling changes and mainly either got lucky or did enough to keep Vegas at bay.  Not sure that's always going to be the case.  I'm just happy it is split going into St. Paul.  Unless they plan to go 11-7 and put Rossi on ice (who is struggling), Buium should sit.  They aren't going to get enough power play time to take advantage of his raw offensive approach.  The Hertl goal wasn't "his fault," but the Knights can pick on him with impunity defensively until one of them does.

Rossi got totally rag dolled. Bandy playoffs in Europe might be a challenge for him. Folingo looks the best I've seen him in along time. Kap knocking the rust off. Boldy a machine in the making. Gus f'in Bus top notch bud.

This may be the best hockey I have ever seen out of Hartman.  He is playing fast, physical, to the net hockey and he isn't letting his emotions get in the way.  Ek had a much better 2nd game.  That top line can play physical with good sticks.

Hartman has been the 3rd best forward on the ice. Ek is doing Ek things but Hartman is making an impact. Has to be able to keep his cool because his play alone is frustrating Vegas.

If you would've told me Foglino, Hartman and Jojo would have more points than Eichel after 2 games I would've laughed at you.

Finally got to watch. Great game. Vegas made a lot of mistakes and we capitalized on them. I think partially due to the pressure we put on them. I liked Buium's zone entries on the PP and the goal next to him wasn't necessarily his fault although he could have been in better position. I agree with the Hartman comments, he is playing to win.

Overall, good discipline, pressure and physicality.

Agreed. Their d-corps has been gifting pucks in the offensive zone leading to many Wild chances. Say what you want about Trenin but the dude has been an absolute menace on the forecheck, Braz has looked decent too. That pressure has directly led to those giveaways. Jojo surprisingly has been good on the forecheck, not physically but he's forced a few turnovers with good stick work.

Any Yurov rumors today yet? Metallurg terminated his contract yesterday. There was chatter he could play yet this year after visa's etc, etc, etc are awarded. Plug him in on the 4th line with Rossi and Trenski and see what happens. If Rossi is seriously only playing at 60% with a injury why not send Ohgren or Strohs light to replace him? This team always gets our hopes up. I wanna see round 2 bad!
