First, we coughed up Alex Tuch during the expansion draft. Then in their first 8 seasons, they make it to the final dance twice, winning just 2 years ago. Finally, back in 2021 the Wild were trying to swing Jack Eichel, but the new reports at the time kept indicating he wouldn't share detailed medical reports (or perhaps the media excuse why GMBG walked away after being concerned about cap hits). With Eichel a few months later taking no time to sign with VGK. And I guess they pulled another TB salary cap deferment with magically healthy for playoffs expensive players. Then I watch how it seems the NHL and Bettman in particular appear to have the same level of disdain for The State of Hockey. Being able to eliminate Vegas first round might bring some solace.
