Was it Knut and his 2 goals? (FYI he's put up 2g/1a in his 14 games with the bruins along side Lindholm/Lauko) Or was it the grape dealer, Lauko, who stunned us with his 3g/3a through 38 games? Why not bring up Ohgren? In his 25 game cup of coffee he put up 2g/3a and was -6 on the +/-. March & April, MoJo's put up 12 points in 17 games. Over the same period Zuccarello's done 11 points, FreddyG's done 9 points, Hartman's done 8 points, Nyquist's done 5 points...I'm not even going to bother looking up Trenin, Brazeau, Hinnostroza, etc... Unfortunately, MoJo's been a significant part of this teams albeit anemic offense. This season's been a revolving door of ELC guys, none of whom have been able to be more productive than MoJo... #90 has been a necessary evil to me at least. I can't stand his play but he's been okay on paper offensively. I think Ogie was potentially capable as a replacement but nowhere near the experience. Out of respect for NoJo, I believe they're giving him the benefit of his NHL career with a secure role. There really wasn't a suitable guy to replace NoJo and Ogie waiting isn't a terrible problem while playing NoJo wasn't the absolute worst. I normally rip him whenever possible but there were times when he played alright. Most of all, I think he's wrong for the fit and getting older. The Wild need to reconfigure the lines this off-season and NoJo isn't one of the players I wanna see come back. Zuccy or potentially Nyquist, who has helped the PK would be better players to extend. NoJo gives ya something, but it's just a partial package. Many of us agree he's got some qualities but we'd rather see Ogie grow or Yurov be handed a spot than NoJo come back and blow coverage or water-ski backcheck. He seems to have more skill than all of our bottom 6 so I would let him play over someone like Shore, NoJo, Trenin, etc. But he is too old for more than a team friendly 2 year with no protections. As flat as Nyquist has been since he got here I agree with your post 100%. Law of averages says we get a better Nyqzy next season.

A guy who has flaws but can put up 30 points on the wing is probably the definition of that. Someone tell BG that, he hasn't gotten the memo... Burnt Toast Verified Member
MJ doesn’t fit the identity of this team. Taking the entirety of his time with the Wild he’s just “Not Tough Enough.” He might have some success out East. It’d be fun if Chicago picked him up. Why? I don’t know but seeing him skating around in a Blackhawks jersey next to Bedard would be hilarious.
Pewterschmidt Verified Member
The reason bill should be immediately fired if he resigns NoJo (regardless of aav or term) is because the team and fans have watched NoJo play half speed, half hearted, half assed for 3/4 of his time here. Then when his contract is coming up he commits and plays like a competent nhl’r. That has got to be so sickening for his teammates to watch night after night and gotta be poison to the team chemistry Edited 4 hours ago by Pewterschmidt

Nyquil is damn near 36 years old, and a 36 year old hockey player who's production has fallen off a cliff isn't a candidate for what this club need to do. I know Crosby, Ovechkin, Burns, Pavelski, etc are productive north of 35 years old, but Nyquist aint Crosby/Ovechkin/Burns/Pavs. 1 hour ago, Pewterschmidt said: The reason bill should be immediately fired if he resigns NoJo (regardless of aav or term) is because the team and fans have watched NoJo play half speed, half hearted, half assed for 3/4 of his time here. That has got to be so sickening for his teammates to watch night after night and gotta be poison to the team chemistry Seriously man, what did MoJo do to you? Dude is on a $2M contract with no movement protection and he's been a significant chunk of the offense for the past month here. I've got no problem with a 'bogosian-esque' contract (~$1.5M x 2ish) with no movement protection (give him trade again, idk) for the guy if he's going to do nothing but sit in the press box and provide depth to the team. Before all the fancy analytics and Dom's player cards, the yardstick was $100k/pt which would put MoJo well out-earning his current contract. Can you try to drag any other player? What about Trenin ($3.5M for another THREE FUCKING years), Hinnostroza has gone flat, Brazau has looked like a nothing-burger, and Nyquist is an expensive version of MoJo. There are a lot of other targets on this team.
