Best bet is to watch the condensed game on NHL.com 1

AKwildkraken Verified Member
He didn't stand out to me, but I can't say I was looking for him much. I do recall a shift late in the game where he looked like a grown man playing hockey being physical and hard to knock off his feet. They had a line of Foligno, Ek, and Ogie at the this time and it looked good. I think around 5 minutes left in the third.
Citizen Strife Verified Member
Getting victories from the jaws of defeat like last night will help. Says a lot that Rossi can make pivotal mistakes only to later go, "eh, I'll win the game anyway."
SkolWild73 Verified Member
The look on Rossi’s face after the game winner was almost like embarrassment. He was like, “yea I scored, but that was ugly”. Made me chuckle. 6
hydguy75 Verified Member
I misread the score check-in... it was 3-1 Wings, and read it as final score. Later last night checked the standings and Last 10 streak, showing Detroit OTL. WTF? Impressive they tied it up with less than 7 minutes to go. Rossi needs more confidence in himself for that OT nailer.

Didnt do anything extremely noticeable but he definitely looks more comfortable and was asserting himself. He battled on the boards and was involved in plays. Looking to me like he's still progressing. I don't think Nojo will be getting his spot back. 2

It’s like ok … puck here…. Now I’ll do this. He’s also differing a ton. Maybe I’m looking for the phrase “Overthinking”? I’m sure this is just the development path every player needs and the coaches will go over everything with him. I think I heard his name called once throughout a complete game broadcast. Sometimes I think the newer players are playing conservatively not wanting to make a mistake. That could definitely be part of it. Rossi’s starting to breakout but when he first joined the team he was playing kinda like LO is now. Maybe that’s a positive indicator for LO.

That’s the kind of depth that wins games. I thought it was incredible he was on PP1. Then he scored wow.
Fezig Verified Member
With KK out for an extended period, doesn't that give us some room to add a player without such a restrictive salary cap? I keep hearing how LV Knights do that each year. Long term injury, add all star caliber player, hide players on the injurred list until playoffs, and then unleash your all star playoff roster. Is that about correct?

Is that about correct? If Kap gets put on LTIR and is out until the playoffs then yes, we can use his salary to go get someone. Yes, we would be able to get someone, but then we would need to hope Kap has zero rust when the playoff series starts. Positives and Negatives to it.

Russo saying McAvoy has had this issue while under Bruins’ care, too. Might be a pi$$ing match…don’t want it to become a 💩 throwing fight. 😳

Rossi’s starting to breakout but when he first joined the team he was playing kinda like LO is now. Maybe that’s a positive indicator for LO. That's a nice summary. Deferring I think is what you meant to say and this is typical specifically from young Swedish players. Hopefully he grows out of this. I think it goes along with confidence and a belief that he thinks he really belongs in this league. Next step after that is the game slowing down for him. To me, he looks too mechanical out there, and this does not appear to be his game, but that fear of making a mistake probably lingers. On a personal note, I just got back from cruisin' the Carribean. It's been about a week and a half. Interesting note, the final 4 Nations game got put on the big screen on the top deck of the ship. This was a special broadcast and not prescheduled. We had quite a few Canadians on board too. I still didn't care much about the tournament, it's just really meaningless. What I was happy to see is all our guys coming out of it healthy. Poor Boston and Florida losing stars, but like they say, nobody else is crying for them. Pewter has an excellent point on our medical staff. 3-McAvoy injury 2-Tkachuk injury (revenge on ending Dumba's career?) 1-Kaprizov coming back later than expected (which I think we all thought anyway) Could this group be shown the door at the end of the season? Were there any significant changes made to this staff starting with the 2023 season? Do we have the best medical staff we can have including preventive injury care and post injury rehab? This deserves an investigation by our crack writing team (yes, I'm handing out homework assignments). But, if you needed an article where you could vent a bit not having to talk about bad contracts, poof, one appears in your lap!

I think he took a big step forward and the experience could help come playoff time. So to sum up he’s still gaining confidence as a player in all situations. I think Jesper W. might need to find a reset in this regard.
