SkolWild73 Verified Member
This is why I hated this article. It was really speculation. Now every injury, people will want to point the finger. Yes, we have had injuries this year. Brodin hit in the ankle with a slap shot, not medical teams fault. Zucc hit in the nuts, not medical teams fault. Nojo concussed, not medical teams' fault. I know people will want to talk about Kap's injury, but there are so many things we do not know. With many injuries there are two options, physical therapy and surgery and sometimes it is a coin flip on which is better. Most people I know prefer to try physical therapy first before surgery. It is possible that is what Kap decided, knowing that if it did not work, surgery would be required, and they had the two weeks off to minimize the number of games he would miss. As far as him not coming back, it has only been 4 weeks. We will see when he does come back, but every player recovers differently from surgery. I do not think the Vikings medical team got credit when Peterson came back months early from an ACL. People just called Peterson a freak of nature. It is also possible that they want him to be as healthy as possible for the playoffs and give him as much time as possible to recover. As far as EK two years ago in the playoffs, is it not possible that Ek wanted to give it a shot and the medical team said that no further damage could be done whether he played or not? He tried, couldn't and was shut down. I guess my point is, there are way too many things that we do not, and probably will not know to make this assumption. Maybe in the future stuff will come out but until then, I will withhold judgement.

Tkachuk got hurt, then sat out a game and a half. There were five days from his injury before he tried to play in the final. I would have to assume that someone from Florida's staff/team had to have a conversation with him about him playing in the final.
Protec Verified Member
Ek hurt at practice. Medical staff is highly suspect? They're giving the boys PCP & Muscle-Milk between periods and putting sandpaper in their jocks. It's leading to other issues and they'll say they were trying to add grit. I can see the articles coming by the weekend. Why isn't Jiricek on the top pair and will Kirill go to Florida or Vegas next??? 😁 https://x.com/RussoHockey/status/1894409754228789732

Which would lead me to deduce it came from a dirty needle. The needle itself wouldn't necessarily have to be dirty. It could be the container that the injection came from, the injected material itself (if poorly stored/maintained), the player's skin if it was not properly cleaned prior to administering the shot, whatever was put on the surface of the skin afterwards, whether McAvoy messed around with the area of the skin afterwards, etc... The needle itself is only one variable. Hell, maybe McAvoy has a lucky towel that he never washes and is full of all his lucky bacteria and he put that on himself immediately after the shot. I think there is enough things that the medical team definitely deserves some scrutiny, but it's also a definite that dirty needles is an oversimplification of the situation.
