Dean had golden opportunities to win playoff series against the Blues & Dallas and his lack of adjustments and style he brought into those games cost them.

Just the things I've read about him when they hired him. I had heard he was not a players coach, he had little to no success at the NHL level and I believed the players liked Deano (I never and still don't buy into the 'he lost the team' BS) and they would hold that against JH a bit.

I' really don't understand the Deano hate in MN. the guy overperformed every season except his shortened up last season. He's way overperforming in Columbus, they lost their 2 best players and were considered to be fighting for the best lottery chance at a #1 pick and instead is fighting for a WC spot.

I disagree with the 'golden opportunities'. Both those teams were much better then the Wild and much deeper.

I applaud what he's done in Columbus and as long as they're not playing the Wild I always root for the Jackets. 

I do agree that Dallas was much deeper but the Blues were extremely beatable and they couldn't get it done.

If I remember correctly they couldn't get it done all season and seasons prior against the Blues. I'm a believer in that some teams just match up well against others. They traded foe Flower that season and T bot was having a good year, but they went with Flower, I think that came from the top (BG). The players were upset about it and I think that set the tone.

Remember Deano was always ragging the refs to the point that the players were following suit. The team needed to be very disciplined to have a chance and they lost that resulting in way too many penalties. With the refs pissed the Wild were never going to get the benefit of any doubt.
