Article: The NHL Community On YouTube Needs Your Help

To me, this is a strange article about stuff I wasn't even aware existed. I don't generally go onto YouTube for NHL content, though, I did use it to try and do some draft research on year (but none of these sites were used).

I don't really understand why articles now, on this site, need to have imbedded video content of some highlight, or why putting an X quote in the middle of a piece has any significance if it isn't from Russo.

Fact is, I can barely post an emoji, and really haven't got much of an idea of what each emoji means. So, to tell me about de-monetizing anything just shoots way over my head. I don't particularly like podcasts either, what's wrong with good old fashioned radio? Also, thanks for those who have posted pics for me when I mentioned a reference. Believe it or not, they are usually entertaining (pics or gifs).

But, what Phillip is saying here is a pet peeve of mine: The NHL does very little to help grow the sport. They go down the old fashioned channels while most other sports are passing them by. They don't take criticism well, so I could see them blocking video for people who are critical of them, and that category is like a huge buffet. Why wouldn't you want this exposure?

It's probably not ever going to be my media outlet of choice, but if it's growing the game in areas where the NHL doesn't reach, maybe the NHL should be listening and encouraging. We don't even know if they are discouraging it since we don't really know who is pulling the copyright claims.

Now, just for reference, I occasionally tune into YouTube. I've got 5 subscriptions, 1 is the Wild channel, another is the baby Wild. I rarely get to them ever with time constraints. So, I'll just ask: Do you guys out here in HW land actively use YouTube as your media outlet? And if so, what other than The Wild do you count on it for (just general categories are fine)?

I like morning cuppa hockey on you tube. It’s a decent daily rundown , good guests..  However all the media is so Canada biased. I’m tired of every story is about a Canadian team. Mainly Toronto Edmonton. . How does the nhl grow when all they do is talk about teams in another country that I’m guessing most in USA don’t care about.  Frank Serevali said he’s worked in Canadas media and there is a definite anti Americanism in the nhl media and front offices.  . Canadians are insecure about the fact the one thing they are good at is slipping away. . So they have to go out everyday and talk about how great they are until the playoffs prove them wrong. Then rinse and repeat next year.

So I do watch content from other teams fan bases because you don’t get any real news from national media unless it’s Conner mcdirty crying about something or how Toronto is the greatest ever and no need for playoffs . The NHL good ole boys are a bunch of insecure Canadians . They are not growing the sport. Viewership is down . No one I know cares to hear how great Canadians think they are day after day. The nhl is in a decline . They’ve taken the toughness and emotion out of the game and made it fake wrestling. Where guys in Toronto decide games. Like that’s not going to be a problem with gambling. Hockey is going the way of nba. Just watch LeBron not play defense while the media is telling you you’re watching something special. That’s the new hockey. Manufactured b.s by insecure Canadians.

First thing you have to come to terms with is the NHL has no F's to give when it comes to the fans. They only care about the $. Clicks on You Tube takes clicks away from their NHL.com site. This is also why their games are spread all over the streaming universe. Sold to the highest bidder. They don't care if you get to see them or have to spend $200 a month to see all the games they got theirs up front.

If there is something the NHL has done recently that is fan friendly I guess I missed it.

Thanks for the update.

Going into this season I thought .500 at best, similar to last season. Just wait it out until next year when the purse strings loosen up. I gotta say more than pleasantly surprised by the start of the season and KK leading MVP discussion.

The last few weeks have been a drag. So the question is, to quote the oft quoatable Denny Green: "They are who they thought they are" in regard to the Wild coming back to the mean; or is this a mid-season slump and what looked great at the beginning will return in February.

I’m an active you tube user and with tik tok teetering I’m moving even more to You Tube

 subject subscriptions include:

stock market (cnbc, the compound, Bloomberg, etc)

Hockey (worst seats in house, wild on 7th, wilderness talk, John Scott pod, mn pondcast)

Not to make this political in any way, but this is exactly how I saw DOGE working. Which one is Musk and which one is Ramaswamy?

My expectation is a lot of people have no idea what they're doing there.
