If things keep going like this, they'll have to figure out where Letteri and Lucchini went and get them back with the team.  God, this year sucks injury wise.  Might be worse than last year, if somehow possible.

As much as I would've liked to see McD's face caved in I'm sure at that point in the game Hynes was quelling a lot of that on the bench. If that game was out of reach it's probably fair game but with how porous the PK is you gotta stay smart.

McD is also a wizard at avoiding contact so it's tough to get a good lick on him.

this may have been a case where a response was more important than the outcome. to just take out a player with no repercussion and then have the tnt fools laugh it off? i dunno to me - this would have been a nice 5v5 brawl. otherwise tomorrow - boldy or rossi will catch an elbow from jamie benn.

No fierce bodychecks against guys with that uniform on? Nobody made uncomfortable in the corners? No heat seeking missile hits? 

I realize it's hard to catch McDavid, but there were 19 other guys wearing the same colored jersey. Maybe you can catch him in a corner and just roughhouse him a bit?

From the camera angles up top (I was blacked out from the game) it looks like a completely glancing blow to the jaw. There must be a better angle to see the full elbow. 

To ODC's point above, if we continue to let these things go without a response, we will be deemed a soft team around the league and more players will take advantage of that. Let's all remember, complaining is not a response. Burying someone into the corner boards is. I think the team could have used a boys will be boys type of game.

That stuff happens at beer league every week. If NoJo is out with concussion and flailing to the ice on that weenie-elbow I'm even more convinced he's a soft, Euro, gutless, pansy. That's where you realize no call is being made and you go get revenge.

think maybe no one wants to get messy besides foligno? maybe old man bogo? that's it. it may be like - why bother - we'll get beaten up for standing up so let's just complain later.

Not sure what you mean here. Would this be after the whistle where he stick taps him, or would this be after the game? I assume Johansson wasn't in good enough shape to share a beer.

It’s pathetic the wild are getting bullied by mcdavid now. They should have sent a message last night with a chicken wing to Conner and Leon. Not eye for eye but eye for multiple eyes . The should have sent a message to the league if you don’t protect our players we will . To think Freddy g getting caved every shift was a game to try to win versus sending a message is a joke. Where the hell is the leadership ? Tough guy moose is no leader . Same old weak pathetic wimp hockey . Cry to the officials like the soiled brats you are. How about getting  men on the roster who don’t get pushed around.  Freddy g is the absolute opposite of what the wild should be

Why do I see a recreation of the Staal incident happening in the 1st round of the playoffs, again. Possibly even against the same team. 

I went on a similar rampage last season to explain that referees can take complaining and then calming everyone down. What they can't take is a game going completely bonkers and they have to then be scrutinized by the NHL for losing control of a game. It's a lot of extra work for them when this happens. Sometimes you have to stand up for yourselves and show up the referees. With a few other franchises around the league, there is a fear that if they do not call things that this other franchise will completely lose their minds and meltdown. 

The threat of a team melting down on ice is a legitimate threat to them. No referee wants to be the guys who have this happen. Is there anything that suggests that the Wild could be a meltdown team? No, there is nothing, so, simply put, referees can do nothing and play the calming down role promising to watch something. I don't suggest doing this often, because the impact will wear off, but it needs to happen at least twice, once on the road and once at home within a small timeline so that referees remember. This would have been a good opportunity to do this at home. Take your pound of flesh, have a good time, and this is also a team bonding exercise. Maybe they even wear broken black glasses after the game?

I would suggest you bring up Gaunce for this type of response. Crotty might be another guy I'd have playing.

in real time it was not obvious that it was intentional, but in slow-mo it was very obvious (even the TNT crew called it out, Gretz said McD gets hit so much he should get a pass on this one.  Gretz probably wants that one back).  McD recognized the opportunity to put his JOFA elbow pad shell into Mojo's chin, McD "chicken winged" his arm out and dropped Nojo.

what is hynes waiting for then? we weren't winning that game. will he wait until we ice the entire AHL team on NHL rink? we are down two top 6 players now and likely have Ek playing injured. we are also down top 3 on D. when will the time come to stand up for your self? after rossi gets injured?

I wouldn't have worried too much about suspensions since in our back pocket we know (I don't) how close Kaprizov/Lauko/Spurgeon/Faber/Brodin are to returning. It appears to be close for 3 of those. 

Worried about suspension when a guy just dropped ours with an elbow to the face? Seriously! If a referee is explaining to me that my guy who just got elbowed in the jaw did so with his own stick which was clearly out of the way, I'm challenging my squad to show up physically. A simple nod to Foligno will suffice. Next shift over the boards is Trenin-Ek-Foligno with Bogosian and Middleton on D, maybe Jiricek instead of Bogo. Maybe not the next shift, maybe you wait for the line you want to destroy (with last change). Don't even let them out of the faceoff circle, just go to town. Start messing with them before the faceoff. Oh, and maybe even run the goalie which is certainly going to capture the opponent's attention. 

I don't know at what part of the game this was, but let's just say you want to delay. When do you go? Right after McDavid's 3rd period goal. Plenty of time for a complete meltdown, and this really needs to be stressed: It must look like the referees have lost complete control over the game. 

Just in case anyone needs a reminder, think back to game 2 of the Dallas series. Some guys got 10 minute misconducts just so they couldn't do anything. They did nothing wrong but got shown the locker room because the game was out of reach and the referees didn't want the game to get out of control. They do fear this aspect because it brings a lot of oversight their way. These guys must get embarrassed!

Let's review:

Kaprizov hit with knee to knee or thigh contact last time we played this team.

Faber out due to a hit with an elbow during St. Louis game.

Spurgeon slew footed into the boards, out 2-3 weeks (traded with a 3 game suspension for the perpetrator. 

Brodin was hit in the foot by a shot, nothing nefarious here.

Who knows what happened to Lauko.

Do we need any reason on our home ice to meltdown once a guy gets elbowed in the jaw? I would think that would be the time for enough is enough, but who knows, maybe we haven't hit bottom on the injury due to chippy play yet. You know who would take this crap? A Tkachuk! Every single player on this roster would play better if they knew a Tkachuk had their back. Rossi would think he was 6'2" with a guy like Tkachuk in the lineup.
