I think Rossi has the work ethic that translates onto the ice.  Not only is he showing that he can consistently produce but he also is improving and expanding his game ever so slightly this season.

I also think playing with KK and Zucc has been good for his game and not just his stats.  His instincts are to be more deliberate IMO but those guys are forcing him think less with their high speed game.

That goal he scored last night was speed of hands.  It was very nice.

That tip/rebound goal he had last night was phenomenal.  He’s finding a way to play in the grimes areas despite not being a huge guy.

He’s also winning face offs more often, which has been sorely needed here for a while.  He’s well above his career average.  He was 12 for 15 against Nashville the other day and 9 for 15 against Ottawa.  Pretty darn good.

I said recently, the way they are playing, I had a hard time seeing them getting more than 6 points in their next 10 games (not playing well, very difficult schedule).  Well, they got 6 in the first 4 games of that stretch.  That’s largely in part to Rossi.

Rossi's shown that he's a strong, independent "Australian" who don't need no Kaprizov.

Rossi is from Austria.

Kaprizov is undisputed king for the Wild. But Rossi has been doing his best to supplant Boldy as a number 3. Ek is supposed to be number 2, but seems hurt. (Although after few of these Trenin games, i wonder if Yasha wants that number 2)

Good job Rossi. Very Very good for Billy. Rossi is pricing himself out of a contract for the Wild and will be a nice toy to dangle in front of a few teams during trade season. If not - wait and see i suppose (Billy will likely have a few options to use, but won't fetch as large of a fish). Have Rossi and Boldy push each other to try to best one another.

He was born in the only Outback Steakhouse in Vienna.

Rossi has proved his dedication to his craft the past two off-seasons. He’s put in the work to get better at every phase of his game.

Interestingly, you never hear about the work Boldy has put in during the summer. Boldy is also proving to be an immature head case. Like LY, when he doesn’t score his game goes to crap and he starts taking a lot of penalties. This happening again this year. In prior years he has stepped up when KK was hurt. This year we have not seen any resurgence of his offensive game. He’s been playing a bit better since Mats returned but has shown no dominance like in the past. His saving grace is he’s showed up in the last two shootouts to win the extra point. His effort last night in OT would have been a highlight goal if but for the post.

Rossi is a great example for the organization if you put in the work, accept feedback with humility and ready to play every night you will get rewarded. He continues to learn, adapt and overcome every night. While his size is a factor, he’s finding a way to play within his skill set rather than try and play a game someone else expects from him. I believe that’s why BG has been surprised by the results and his trade talk, whether planned for motivation or just the timing of an evolving player, has shown his value.

Imagine if Rossi has not scored half his points?  The Wild would be fighting for a wildcard position and the chatter would be how KK maybe looking to move on to a contender. BG should pay the guy and thank him for likely saving his job.
