Citizen Strife Verified Member
Hartman has usually been good at streaky scoring, but at .20-.25 PPG, he doesn't even get that this year.
Burnt Toast Verified Member
Just from a fan’s eye test, mine, Hartman looks a little lost out on the ice this year. Maybe get him a couple of linemates and have them stick together for a while if possible. I would imagine some players prefer certain guys so if it’s players he has some chemistry with that would be fantastic. Hopefully the coaching staff has communicated expectations and roles already. Wild management has chosen to keep RH over many other players so they must trust him to be a consistent contributor.
Willy the poor boy Verified Member
Well, the Wild got their 1 goal. Now we have to hope Gus can get us to OT....
Citizen Strife Verified Member
Better yet, they got a non-Kap goal!
Skomonkey Verified Member
Hartman has been a liability for years. He doesn’t look like he’s trying. He often waits for the puck to come to him inviting contact which he usually loses control of the puck. The guy can’t finish. I’m guessing no one wants him so we are stuck. I would bench him for 5-7 games and give others his spot. Can’t hurt. If he’s playing injured, this will give him time to heal. If he’s a head case and lazy as I suspect, he will have a choice to make before the Wild waive him.
mnfaninnc Verified Member
I'd go the opposite way of SM above, I'd put him on the 2nd line with Boldy when Ek gets back. I think we have a bigger problem with Johansson these past couple of games starting to take cardio shifts. I believe he needs the message ahead of Hartzy. With Johansson, he either gets Prossbox, or 4th line with Dino (and I do think that with Johansson's speed, it is a good match with Dino's speed). Hartzy has an NMC for the rest of this year, but a 15 team M-NTC for next season. To me, he has proven to be a $4m player, but, his role is being sent down to not be that kind of value. I think this summer, it will be time to trade him. Also, something seems off with him physically, like SM said above, he may, indeed, be gutting it out.
Protec Verified Member
Hartman with five shots last night. He's been with lesser linemates in terms of setup guys. He's a goal scorer when with Kaprizov and the Norwegian Hobbit but put him with Fred or Foligno and it's not happening but he's trying. Hartman is not in a great position for success right now. NoJo holding that spot on L2 is a joke. A little Hartmanesque play here by ODC's favorite. Who can blame him, watch Kasparitis dodge the flying-elbow. This can lighten the mood at least. Wild losing games regularly now. 😆 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5tNcAyY05IY
