Would be nice to see Wall come up and play some solid minutes.  Would give the Wild some bargaining chips and options for Gus.  With the extra money coming off the books and the cap increase it would be nice to see the Wild capable of signing a top 6 beast, rather than just increasing everyone's pay.

Lets see, knowing SillyG and what he values we can spend that dead cap pretty quick:

Corey Perry, Age 39:  5x$7.5M, Full NMC/NTC (He's won a cup AND been to 4 straight SCF)

Matt Grzelcyk, Age 30, 6x$6M, FULL NMC/NTC (Idk, he played for Pittsburgh)

Dmitry Orlov, Age 33, 7x$7.5M, FULL NMC/NTC (He's Russian right, that should make Kaprizov happy...right?)

Why would we want to get rid of Gus? He was basically a vezna leader before he got hurt.

Matt Grzelcyk,

Is 5’9-5’10

hes been solid on their pp but we don’t need another small player on D. None of those other players are interesting to me either. We don’t need Kady Perry bangin any of the younger players mom either.

Players have value.  With a Cap like the NHL has much of what makes a team a contender is managing that cap.   A GM that can under pay for value will have more success than one that overpays for the same value.  Gus is a solid goalie but I also believe that MN is goalie friendly so it is easy to overpay.  if we pay Gus $7M plus I think that starts to be an overpay and will prevent us from obtaining value in other areas that we clearly need.  There are goalies like Gus that just haven't been given a chance and put in the right position, just like Gus was, they will do well and provide a great ROI.
