M_Nels Verified Member
Any sources for him getting a start Tuesday? I'd say he was recalled more to get him around the coaching staff, other players and get some practice time with the Wild under his belt. I just don't see him supplanting anyone 3 days after being traded for.

I'm reading this is more about introducing him to the big club (practice, coaches, Ness (boy this guys stock is rising), facility, etc), than having him there to play with the big club

Jiri is waivers exempt so no issues there.

I don't think it makes any sense to throw Jiricek into the game when he doesn't have background on the structure and expectations of the coaching staff. In my mind, Jiricek won't play unless another defenseman comes up with an injury prior to Tuesday night's game against Vancouver. Bringing him in was an investment in the future, not someone they want on NHL ice right away.

That is straight from the article.
