Wildfan2k Provisional Member
Not all rookies score in their first game (KIRILL). Some need a little more time, and/or more suitable line mates. ( see Liam O.) I remember an article written by Luke Sims on Hockey Wilderness last year soon after Hynes was hired.. It worried me, and I have provided that link below, but first hear me out. It shed some light on past prospects that Coach Hynes had coached, and in my own words, not given the opportunity. The Wild have a great prospect pool combined with the veteran contracts in place. What to do? I think we’re finding out. Play the vet players (2nd-4th lines) even when they are not scoring. Rookies are seeing minimal opportunities, and likely with 4th line bruisers, not play makers. Playing 10 or less minutes a game can’t define a player. Playing with unskilled line mates hinders them more. Lastly, the most hustle has come from the rookies (or Lauko), actually really impressed with Lauko’s speed. The little patience Hynes seems to have with rookies is frustrating this year. I believe Ohgren can be a scorer THIS year, and the Wild need help with scoring. Three or four guys will not carry the scoring all year. Without further delay, here is that article about Hynes written by Luke Sims, and thank you for your time.
