Imyourhuckleberry Verified Member
Quote “It’s exciting,” said Boldy, who’s second on the Wild with 10 goals and 18 points this season and is one of only three Wild players — along with Kaprizov and Marco Rossi — to score a goal in the past three games. “It’s part of the long season. Guys are going to get hurt. Guys have to play with different guys. “We’ve seen that the last few games with scrambling them up. So I’m excited to see some different looks and different combos and try to see if they work.” Boldy commenting on playing with JEE and Kaprizov. I imagine when your other winger changes from Johansson to Kaprizov, it's extremely exciting!
Protec Verified Member
Nice to see Ovi scoring, hope he's back soon. Noticed McBain has five goals. Bjugstad three. MN could use a little more from their depth guys. Take a look at these numbers. Better results than last year in the standings, but come on guys. Gotta find a way. Imyourhuckleberry Verified Member
Riley Heidt has missed a few games with an upper body injury, but sounds like he's day-to-day. His teammate, Kings winger Koehn Ziemmer, has been lighting the lamp regularly to lead Prince Georges with 19 goals in 15 games(7 goals ahead of everyone else despite missing 5 games). Yes, that's who I wanted the Wild to draft instead of Heidt. Them being on the same team makes it easy to track how each is doing. I also see they have an undrafted Right-shot D that's been playing for Slovakia in the under-20 worlds the last few years, Viliam Kmec. He's 6'2" and 205 pounds. Perhaps the Wild can add him to their AHL defensive unit next year? I imagine some team will. He's leading Prince Georges with 21 assists in 20 games and is a +22 while no other teammates are in double digits for +/-.
Imyourhuckleberry Verified Member
Stramel was also able to add a goal and an assist in an 8-3 beat down of Notre Dame over the weekend, moving his point total to 8 in 10 games played. Substantial improvement considering Stramel had exactly the same number of goals(3) and assists(5) in 34 games last season! 8

Imyourhuckleberry Verified Member
For goalies who have played at least 7 games, Gus has the 2nd highest save percentage and the lowest goals against average in the league. Good thing the Wild didn't trade him or they could be several points lower in the standings.

Simple,” Jones described himself. “Not going to kind of wow you. But reliable and simple, solid game.” -- The Athletic

Protec Verified Member
"Highly Skilled Euros" are a joke cause they're like so many others who have skill but no motor. Or they have game when they wanna play and many where apathy and neck beard is all you notice. Russians, Elite Swedes, Czechy Grinders, or especially Norwegian Hobbit don't get the typical "Euro" criticism. Rossi is exempt too. Too much hunger to be blamed for his hockey heritage. I saw NoJo suck again last night and got a lucky assist as Brodin's slapper glanced off a guy's butt to beat Binnington. Funny to me that is how NoJo gets on the scoresheet and somehow manages to keep getting top line minutes and PP. The highlight for me was Kap's tip on Middleton wrister. He turned to see the puck go in and sure as shit, there's Suter trying to defend. Kirill gets to raise his stick with a literal "in your face!" moment. Boldy hits the post a time or two each game. Hopefully he will get some breaks in the next few games. Way better with Ek in. I wanna see more Ben Jones. I look for stuff to rip Trenin on to support our guy Pewterschmidt but he's not making mistakes. Just no offense to speak of.

Hard to play against is real and if the other team doesn't like staring down the barrel at Trenin, I'm in. I know the eye test doesn't seem to jive with him but the defensive stats....can't ALL be Foligno.

I understand that Folino brings value based on Coursey scores, etc and they’re never gonna be on a highlight reel, even though they play a role that’s necessary.. It’s just that he looks like a fish out of water when the puck is on his stick. This season I can see Folino doing more things that add value when he’s on the ice. So maybe that’s directing my Foligno hate at trenin. 1

We’ll be buying Trenon out of the year from now. He’s got 1 foot in the press box 20 games into his first contract with us. This is a player you draft in the middle rounds and you have him playing his ELC contract years until you replace him with your next 6’3” ELC player. If trenin would finish his checks like clutterbuck, I’ll stop complaining. He doesn’t even do that, and that’s the only thing he can do. Yeap cause there was never Fetisov or Konstantinov, Datsyuk or Larionov, Kaspy or Ragulin, Makarov or Harlamov. Nope - label them Euro trash. Not like Sean Avery, Not like Reeves, Not like Chris Simon or Todd Bertuzzi, Domi, Lemiuex, Tom Wilson, Matt Cooke - they all had/have motor (and most even played on the Wild team....maybe we should get rid of all these trash euro players and get these gents back on our Wild team). One thing I have noticed about Trenin besides him being a lumberwagon in a straight line is that he is very good at chipping pucks out of the zone and finding the soft spot to start a breakout. Is that worth his contract? Well no but it's something that doesn't always get noticed. I seem to remember him being a huge thorn in the Wild's side when he was with the Preds. He does need to start getting on the score sheet however, his most goals in a year is 17 and that happened with the Preds.

My HS coach that played in the IHL endeared me with that nickname. I wasn't quick/shifty by any means but I was fast(ish) in a straight line after I got going and shifted out of granny low but no body was going to stop the momentum.
