raithis Verified Member
I watched every game I could last season (more than half of them) and was glad to.see the initial response from fans, but all the crap in the off-season really soured me on the team. I'd like to still see the PWHL succeed, but I'll probably find another team to root for.

I don't know if it was actually reported as such but the appearance was that the coach and two players initiated and completed a coup against Natalie Darwitz as GM. Darwitz had basically done everything to create and build the team from the ground up. If anything it was certainly a very bad look for the team and league. It was done within days of the team winning the championship.

I also followed them pretty closely and felt like all of the positivity was flushed down the drain with their shady front office behavior. It sounds like it was the coach that really initiated it. Maybe he was pissed that Darwitz had initially passed on him as coach for another guy who bailed right before the season started to take some other opportunity.
