Skomonkey Verified Member
I hope he thinks about the team more than the money. Yes, he’s worth it to us but if he makes a lot of money and we can’t add talent around him, we will just be a perennial bubble team. The wild made a huge bet on him early on paying him at a $9 million level with a short sample size. While things looked good, he could have easily fetched in the neighborhood of 6 million at the time, and that would’ve been reasonable. We are now just getting out of Cap Hell and it would really suck to throw all of the eggs in one basket. If he really wants to bring a cup to Minnesota, he would at least take into account the supporting cast that will be necessary to make that happen , or at least get past the first series in the playoffs

I'd rather have one 97 than replace him with six other top 6rs. We need a superstar to win us big games so pay the man what he want's and figure out the rest of the lineup after that. You didn't hear it from me but Boldy looks like he's on his way (maybe already there) to becoming a game breaker. He's got the deadliest poke check in the league. And he's got plenty of Finnish. I see you young man!!
mnfaninnc Verified Member
We'll have some ELC and bridge deals coming up. I'm told the cap is going up again, but where does that end? I believe we'll be getting great value out of Buium, Yurov and The Wall. I have no problem paying Kaprizov while this happens. What happens after that? Maybe we get a mercenary during those years on a short term deal? This team could be stacked in a couple of years and momentum seems to be going in that direction. On the Farm: Heidt has 21 pts. in 13 games Yurov 10 in 18 Where did Jimmy Clark come from? 10 in 8 Buium 10 in 8 Kumpulainen has gone into hybernation, 9 in 17 Mikey Milne 8 in 10 Haight 6 in 10 Stramel 5 in 6 Don't look now but The Wall is down to 3.70, .881 Looks like The Wall has rebounded from his rough start. It also looks like they are playing him pretty heavily.

For this argument we're talking middle of the road top six players, which is most realistic for this hypothetical.
