Article: Gamethread: Wild vs. Lightning (7:00 p.m.)

How did everyone watch the game?  I finally bit and picked up ESPN+ only to have 3 of 5 games that my schedule allowed to be blacked out.

These past few games... looks like the Wild have it dialed in.  It seems like Hynes worked on some things over the summer.  He tested different lineups early in the season to see what works and what doesn't work so well (coupled with key injuries 14 46).  Overall I think they found their lineups and have the proper coaching confidence to drive them.  They appear to be showing more poise, more in control of the puck, do not get frustrated even down a 2 goal deficit, and more confidence on the ice.  In short, they are finally playing as a disciplined team.

They are now Wild Fire.

The lines got scrambled in the back half of the second period because Marcus Johansson left with an injury.

I didn't see every minute of the game, but I'm assuming Johansson came back in the 3rd period. His minutes didn't look drastically reduced.

Didn't see anything about Hartman getting a new injury(in post game comments), but he's playing at less than 100% because the injury he had is not fully healed.

Watch the Nick Paul goal. Hartman gets smoked in the hand and goes off without grabbing his stick. He's not a Euro so I'm guessing it's not good and there's some damage. Hope not, but it looked like perhaps the wrist shot caught part of the glove where there's less protection.

McDonough shot rides up Hartzy's stick.

Puck falls off to Nick Paul as you see the right hand dangling from the recoil of the shot/pass hitting it. I'm assuming it was a shot attempt but maybe it was a fake that was intended as a pass to Cirelli.

Hartman wincing in pain. He went straight to the bench, no stick.

I reluctantly do the ESPN thing.

Hartman was practicing today like normal so hopefully that just stung him. I'd like to see him get on a bit of a scoring streak. I think he's a better fit with more skilled playmakers cause he can score on good chances. I see him as more of a L2 guy but maybe Trenin and Foligno can make a few savvy passes or high IQ chips into space for Hartzy to bury. 🤣
