maybe try to push out articles that spell out how the Wild KEEP Kaps! if you continue to share these types of ideas, at least give Kap the respect he deserves. You want to trade him? OK - Kap for Jack Hughes. You want to trade him? OK - Kap for David Pastrnak No? too lofty or unrealistic? we want to settle for someones B squad when we are giving up a top 5 player in the league???   

again - we need to push and push and optimize our position and we have done nothing. instead we are waiving a white flag here with all these bogus trade suggestions 

Kings won't trade Byfield for Kaprizov???? cause yeah - no way they do that!! Byfield is untouchable and we may need to add a pick and a prospect to make that deal work right?

Can someone in the front office grow a brain and just make Kap a captain and understand that he is a superstar in the league and prioritize him and his timeline or you will see Byfield instead of Kaprizov on your team and that will be quiet sad. How about we try to actually PLAN for the future and act aggressive and smart and go for other teams top dogs. Instead of giving Svechnikov our number 1 player - we give our number 1 player Svechnikov!

That be a nice top 4 of Kap Svechnikov EK and Boldy to build around. Svechnikov and Kap can buddy up, GF models can become besties,  Kap resigns, we celebrate SC in 2025. yeap this very season.

Agree with Old Dutch.  We need to start to look at ways to get rid of our old dead fat and get more productive players.  Foligno, Hartman, Zucarello, Spurgeon, Freddie, Nojo, Rossi, Gus all should be looked at being moved.  This team needs a big shakeup.  We aren’t winning anything with the team we have.  If Billy thinks this current team is close then he is a terrible GM.  Let’s shake things up and start to go for it.  It starts now as we want it starting next year. Take some big swings.  We need 2 more good top 6 players and 2 more top Dmen that are big.  If asking to much figure out ways.  We have tons of prospects and many won’t see the nhl yet people keep hyping them.  Until they make it’s all media hope and dreams which seems all this state cares about.  How about results and building a real winner!

Draisaitl got $14m per year, so that sets the market for Kaprizov.  No way he makes that on the open market.  So anything $12-13m looks to be the goal here.  Question now is whether he signs with us or not.

Kaprizov should sign a 6 year contract extension ,  That would put him at 35 at the end of that contract and then if things didnt work out yet hed have probably 3-5 years to chase the cup but hopefully it works out here and he can retire a Wild player .

Sometimes I think you don’t have a clue how hockey works. There’s a decent chance we lose Kap. 

Kap has a 10 team NTC I believe. If we are trading Kap, it means he wasn’t going to sign anyways. If we are trading him, that means that all the other nhl teams know he isn’t resigning. That means we have very little leverage. 

If we have no leverage there’s not a snowball chance in hell we get an equivalent player in return. It most likely means there’s only a few teams who we can actually trade him to.

 

Carolina is basically in win now. Svech is going to explode this season. He’s like 24 and last year he was on an absolute tear towards the end of the season after he came back from injury. Why would they give up one of their very best players for a couple of younger players/prospects and a depth player? 

Have you ever researched why Kap doesn’t have the C? Did it ever occur to you that maybe He doesn’t fckn want it??? Did it ever occur to you how that would effect the other players inside the locker room?

There is so much more than what we see on the surface. I get what you’re saying but almost all of it isn’t plausible.

You and I both have a thick skulls but I think yours rivals mine. I’m just trying to give you some additional insight on things I really don’t think you’re seeing. One thing you’ll like is if we lose Kap I’m almost certain they will get rid of BG.

There’s a decent chance we lose Kap. Yeap hence my sense of urgency, while most of people are content to let it be.

If we are trading Kap, it means he wasn’t going to sign anyways. This is a bit too smart for me. Are you saying if we trade him, he won't play for us? I guess, i agree.  But again, i am trying to propose some moves that would prevent us from trading him. 

If we are trading him, that means that all the other nhl teams know he isn’t resigning. That means we have very little leverage.  i don't want to trade him. but if you are saying he is worth byfield then i think you my friend is the one without a clue. 

If we have no leverage there’s not a snowball chance in hell we get an equivalent player in return. It most likely means there’s only a few teams who we can actually trade him to. Can we stop trying to find a landing spot for Kap and maybe try a more creative thinking and try to build a team AROUND him for the now? maybe entice him to stay? or should we just try to see if we can get byfield or tuch or maybe boeser 💩

Why would they give up one of their very best players for a couple of younger players/prospects and a depth player?  every team wants to win. last year they went all in and did NOT win. who knows their mental state and what their GM is thinking. my post was more thinking of going all in on great players. i know i picked on Svech cause i value him highly but it goes for all top tier players - be aggressive and try. don't just cave and give up.
