If they discovered Ritchie had injury issues that should have been sniffed out pre-draft. If I go with the Guerin is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers benefit of the doubt I cannot think of a more wasteful way to mismanage assets. I certainly don't know anything but it's peculiar. I have said I don't like drafting for position and that's exactly what MN did last Summer so it's possible the rum and doobies are Guerin's problem. It will be interesting to follow. Many of Guerin's moves have worked out. Including some that were initially met with disdain. Ritchie wasn't exactly on the NHL doorstep. Brackett/Guerin might have been mapping out future drafts and roster construction seeing an abundance at that spot? Perhaps they plan to grab another winger, more NHL ready? Kinda tipping MN's hand if that's public right?
