Otherwise keep Rossi and give em Boldy. Florida wasn't shit til they got a Tkachuk so I'd overpay and the only guys I wouldn't trade is Ek, #97, or Faber.

Even if Chatfield got a healthy raise, we're looking at like 2.5-3M at the top end. Just saying MN has a lot of holes to fill. I have my doubts Guerin will go get any of the guys we mention but the point doesn't change which is that the Wild could easily upgrade via free agency. If they traded players and rustled-up the roster perhaps they can return to their previous trajectory that got derailed in the last 9 months. This Kirill narrative developing kinda makes it seem necessary. i have always been a Skjei fan. That said, I would be very nervous that it would be a rerun of the Goose scenario. Brady comes home to finish career and quickly turns into a liability. Every chance says that is unlikely but it makes me nervous.

My understanding is that Chatfield has already turned that down from the Canes, he's looking at the $4ms, or top 4 money.

After that, you simply go year to year. Guerin doesn't do that, and it's frustrating. Take advantage of a home town guy who you just revisit every year! If he's got a good agent and teams willing to pay for a smallish body of work I suppose. At that point MN could easily go with MN big defender Erik Johnson. Short deal 2-3M or perhaps pay a little more for known guys like Justin Schultz or Sean Walker.

Off the Canes, I'd certainly snatch up Skjei. He'll want a raise. He may like coming home too.
