Article: Game 6 Gamethread: Wild vs. Stars (8:30 p.m.)

First off, the Wild are playing slow and with no sense of urgency.  They have had a ton of chances but miss because of someone slow to the puck.

Second, where are all the fans here?  It's the state of hockey, right? Only 60+ comments for a Wild playoff game? Come on people, do better... Let's get into this!

Does anyone care that Wyatt Johnston is a year younger than Rossi, is a >6' right shot center who is a plus player. Maybe the Wild should've tried to trade up two spots and get a NA center rather than Lambos.

I mean Ek & Shaw getting hurt doesn't help before the playoffs but I really started to expect more from the Wild...

Ek is a big part of the team's success but you would think the group would rally around the fact that Ek could return if they could win round one. It just seems like the Wild always roll into the playoffs like a cocky little brother beginning to come into his own, only to have the big brother pound him and deliver the metaphorical wedgieee while the Wild shamefully diminish into the off-season with an attitude of unfair treatment and victim mentality. Doesn't this kinda seem like last year all over again. Where was Fiala and the boys last year. This year isn't much different. Hintz is leading playoff scorers and Suter is getting the last laugh. MN big players are being shut down. How's that make ya feel?

1) is Dallas this good

2) are we this average

3) are we  getting out coached and clowned

it’s hard to believe that this is an elimination game at home.  The wild are certainly not playing like it is.

Dallas is good, but I feel like this is more on the Wild just simply not being prepared.  The Stars have been opportunistic and buried their chances. The Wild couldn't hut the broadside of a barn 12' away right now.

Please fire Dean. Another first round exit. This is the best he can do and it's humiliating. He throws a game away with Fleury and gets totally outcoached via special teams. It's worth trying to see if someone else can get this team farther.

What are we even risking and what's the worst that can happen? We suck? I would much rather this team just started flat out sucking instead of being stuck in this neverending loop of playoff collapse. It's predictable and ruins every single season.

1) I think they'll beat the Avs/Kraken winner and I'm not just saying that because they beat us. I predicted they would get to the WCF when I made my bracket before the playoffs.

2) We're extremely unorganized. This team has the talent and depth to beat Dallas.

3) Yes. They are getting progressively WORSE as the series goes on. What's different from then vs. now? Coaching changes.

Also Lundell, Jarvis, and Mercer all looking good in the playoffs. Selected 12th, 13th, and 18th overall. Man, I remember how mad Buffalo fans were that they didn't take Rossi. Now I'm pretty mad they didn't take Rossi cause then the Wild would've been forced to pick Quinn, or Lundell, or one of these guys who's already got 40+ NHL points and play a North American style of hockey. The Wild don't need any more soft, little, non-factor guys. Get Shaw a bionic knee and bring him back. Otherwise, Foligno and others have failed to justify their value. Who cares about regular season, for crying out loud, Florida is giving the Bruins a run for their money as the final WC team. The Wild should really be embarrassed they do this each April, regardless of the coach or player group.

Just now, Pewterschmidt said:

It’s very strange how invisible 97 has been

Russo/others have said he didn't come back fully healthy and Suter's crosschecks didn't help. Russo is of course very biased, but he's obviously not himself. Not sure what Boldly's excuse is however.

That grit video is a joke!!! Who do the Wild think they are. GMBG saying he wants the guys to be one way is not the worst, but the fact they put that out as the Wild shit the bed for a couple games tells me they're mentally something but not tough.

Faber is the only guy not minus it seems like. The character just isn't there. The mental toughness isn't there. The discipline and buy-in just isn't there. Either the leadership of the coach has failed and he lost the room or the team just can't snap out of their poor me-mindset.

When I grew up the saying went, "when the going gets tough". I mean Dallas has been in control the whole series after Game 1. Game 3 was a fluke, I mean since when does the Norwegian Hobbit get playoff goals in MN? When Dallas has an off-night, that's it. Frustrated whiners, and losers is how the Wild look now. Nice job marketing team, you psyched everybody out at the worst time. Shoulda made that video in October and STFU in April. Especially given the playoff losing streak of every season in the first round...
