It'll probably be a painful next few years.

I think it will be about the same given the development/integration of the young'ins. Again, I think they've done a great job with construction of the roster with the handicap. Once the handicap is off, they'll be developed and the Wild will have tons of money. Game on.

It most certainly shouldn't be, but the officiating game is very political...and he/the team are VERY bad at it. The Wild always have been though in Dean-O's defense. Ultimately the NHL needs to fix this shit...but it's pretty obvious they're not going to anytime soon, so you have to play that game.

I agree.  But, It’s just human nature, IMO.  You can only be beckoned over to the bench to be screamed at that you’re a f$&@ing idiot so many times. Constantly on camera making stupid faces with veins popping out of head, mouthing curse words.  He’s got players like Hartman and Foligno doing it on the ice and on the bench.

Any human being is going to hate that guy and develop an unconscious bias.

I would trade our entire staff and half our roster for DeBoer.  I heard a stat earlier that he’s something like 6-1 in the first round (maybe misheard).  Calming influence on the bench. Well spoken in the media.  Doesn’t lose his mind with every penalty.  Their special teams is absolutely humming.  Absolutely dismantling a Wild team is probably a better on paper by letting them lose their minds and self destruct.  Seems like a great coach.

It’s time for Dean to go.  He’s a loser.

DeBoer is good. He's proven it time and time again.

Was wondering they should have pulled Gus after the 3rd goal. Let him rest and maybe a Fluery change kickstarts something? Or, Gus would rather have the work? The stud he is!

I would have been perfectly ok with pulling him. I'm all about pulling goalies to send a message to the team when it's not the goalies fault.

Do they have a choice? In their defense, they've done a pretty damn good job with a $12mil boat anchor on the salary. I just think people need to take that into account...but not necessarily forgive the organization for the situation they created (with the help of NHL retroactive penalties...shit).

You may be thinking I’m suggesting they get better players, I am suggesting they fuckin tank for a god damn change and keep adding high end prospects to the pool so they can get the pieces need to actually be relevant in the playoffs.

yes they have a choice, and for the last 10 years it has been do what ever it takes to make the playoffs. How about one year do whatever it takes to to get a top 5 pick. We are about 3 years past the correct time to do that now tho…..

I wouldn't mind seeing that for the next couple of years.

I don't like tanking, but that's because I like watching my team play competitive hockey. Fully realize not everyone thinks that way. It obviously doesn't work that well as much as you'd think either (see the Oilers). There's better ways to build a team and I think GMBG understands that.

What bothers me the most with the last 2 games is that we have been the better team.  We get more breakaway chances.  We move the puck better.  We get better scoring chances.  We play more physical.

The difference?  Special teams and failure to score.

They oilers don’t have an excuse for why they can’t break through.

The wild are stuck in mediocrity. I want to see them hoist a cup. They won’t do that by playing 4th line grinders on their 1st line. (Yes I know they don’t have a choice currently). but they will keep making the playoffs and exiting in the first round. It’s tried and true and it’ll happen next year too.

I actually don't think they're bad each season but the playoff chokes are frustrating. I mean it's been three years in a row of horseshit special teams. Maybe that's why a top prospect is needed but I think that's an excuse. The team shows they can play great but they find ways to lose their composure and shit the bed when it matters most.

I totally agree though that the bench and group is losing it and letting the refs get under their skin. If you continue to do that Dallas is just laughing. We said this all day today that the Wild need to come in and play with some focus. Foligno channels his anger into a misconduct the first shift. Get what ya deserve I suppose...
