Article: Wilderness Walk: Time To Get The Lead Back

Recommended Posts

Here's a couple observations:

I don't have an opinion about the "goalie controversy".

I have got to ask about the penalties though. If the dall-ass team is "diving" as HCDE insisted, doesn't the Wild brass have a conversation with the director of referees about it? I assume the refs can still call embellishing penalties, right?

If that's the case but they aren't being called, then maybe they aren't, and from the top down the Wild need to stop complaining about the calls and dedicate themselves to playing through adversity rather than using it as a reason for losing.

Next I'm kinda wondering where Reeves is. Because if the refs aren't going to call Suter for his assaults on our 97, causing what looked like serious discomfort, then he needs to relocate Suter's nose from the outside of the front of his head to the inside of the back of it!

Lastly I'd like to point out that according to any matrix you might find, with a financial deficit the Wild are working with, there's ZERO reason to expect anything from this team.

Sure we have some really good talent, but without being able to pay the great talent what they deserve, I had only hoped at the beginning of the season, to be marginally competitive.

This group, for the second year in a row, is over performing by a significant margin.

I very much disapprove of the criticism of the management and coaching staff given the reality of the situation. Even with the minor gripes I have stated above, I for one am happy to congratulate this whole group for a job very well done, whether they beat the Stars or not.

The Wild win when they’re focused and within their structure. These are mostly 5v5 games with the foundation on solid defending and responsible puck management. They have the talent to score when chances come. MN has depth guys who can bury it.

Can’t give Dallas top guys breakaways, tap-ins, and many PPs...

My expectations at the beginning of the year were also very low.  Was hard to watch them the first month.  I am surprised they made it to the playoffs and finished 3rd in Central.  The team deserves to be proud of their accomplishments with the cap issues.

That being said, we can play better than we did on Wednesday and at least give Dallas a run for their money.  If we lose... make it extremely difficult.  Play with pride to the end.

He's lying in wait. Dude did the same thing in the Vegas series.

Didn't really notice him much and then game 7 hit and suddenly Suter's finding his face in the goal-post.. when it gets to elimination time, you'll likely notice Reeves much, much more.

Not one game on ESPN Plus last night or tonight. Really stupid of the NHL to do that shit and the start times are nonsense...

Lizard needs to start doing Lizard things again. We need that line to work.

Like I said before game two, which didn't happen, someone needs to let Suter know he can't mess with KK. Someone also needs to start doing the same thing with Robertson.

I hope he doesn't wait until a game 7, enough of these cross checks going unanswered. I am not going to go dallas fan on it calling for cheap shots but make them pay with a relentless physical onslaught from the drop of the puck, remember the titans style, break their will.

It’s ironic it’s called ESPN Plus (implying being an improved version of ESPN), yet I can’t watch normal ESPN content on it. I’ve found this pretty frustrating.

Also yes to Lizard doing things, he has looked worse than invisible, he has been actively terrible this series. Turnover machine.
