Guest Nels Gjengdahl Guests
I disagree with the points made about size. The difference between 5'11'' and 5'7'' is very significant, especially when the average height of an NHL player today is 6'1'' (according to Wikipedia). While the NHL is trying to protect the players more, a player is still only one high hit away from a career ending concussion. And the risk increases even further when the player is 5'7'' (see PMB). Even, when you had to point to shorter strong players, you had to mention all the way back to Theo Fleury and Pavel Bure who haven't played since 2003. Also, Wayne Gretzky is 6'0''. While it is frustrating that there are these players with incredible talent who are only hindered by the fact that they are smaller in height, I think it is wise to significantly consider the size of a player. I really enjoy the podcast every week, especially in the off season when I do not have any hockey to watch. Keep up the great work.
